SAFETY

NEW Electric Inc. is a 2009 Wyoming Governor’s Safety Award winning company for Best Safety Program.

NEW Electric Inc. (N.E.I) is a uniquely regulated business.  We are regulated by MSHA when working at a mine, OSHA construction on construction sites, and OSHA general industry at oil and gas sites as well as all other locations.  In addition, N.E.I. is a regulated DOT carrier.  Purchasing a safety program out of a box would not ensure regulatory compliance or a safe environment for our people.

We have developed safety training that is specific to this region of the United States and that interrelates with the major companies operating here.  We would be glad to share our experience with your companyIt works!

It is with pride and excellence that we have developed high quality MSHA, OSHA, and CPR trainings that are available to the public as well as other employers.

Each week, our employees receive professional and timely safety training that is customized to the work they perform in their different work settings.  Employees start each week with safety and are very involved in safety considerations.  Our trainers are certified MSHA, OSHA, and American Heart Association instructors.  We also have the privilege of conducting training for other businesses and we welcome hearing from you on how we can help you customize your safety program Classes are available now for your employees and you can sign up online.

In February 2009 the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld OSHA citations against a company for safety violations by a contractor that was doing work for them.  What this ruling means to our customers is that they are more likely to look at the safety records of the companies they have working for them.  OSHA fines have been increasing dramatically and with a recent push toward contractor safety this trend is going to become even more important.

Our region is very unique in needs and appropriate responses to these needs.  N.E.I.'s Safety Department can customize your program to this area and its industries.  Companies working regularly in mines, even as a contractor or vendor, may be required to develop a MSHA-approved training plan and use this tool in ensuring worker safety.  MSHA has made it clear that their emphasis is upon contractors and vendors in Powder River Basin mines.  Contractors active in mines are half of the full-time miner population, yet they currently account for twice as many MSHA reportable accidents and lost time injuries than the full-time miners.  We believe that we can help you develop the tools to prevent expensive citations and better prevent workforce injuries while ensuring compliance with Part 48 of the MSHA requirements including creating and filing a training plan, developing customized MSHA training materials, and implementing appropriate training under your plan.  Contact us today to be placed on our mailing list.
